Originally from the Philippine, Remia Montayre is a natural
artist, born with the artistic gifts that she has nurtured and developed.
Remia started drawing human faces and form from as early as three
years of age. Coming from a family of artists, her father, who was
a sculptor encouraged Remia to study architecture.
Moving on to Sydney, Australia in 1984, She got married and continued
to follow her artistic destiny. |
Her
new life in Australia opened her eyes to more artistic influences
and here she became interested to learn different techniques. Delving
into numerous books, and all the resources available to her, she
developed her love for the works of renowned artists such as Caravaggio
a famous Italian artist and Elya Repin a famous Russian artist.
She
began accepting commissions in 1989, and it was during this period when she decided
to specialise in portrait painting. Using her eyes as her window
to the soul, she captures the feelings and emotions of her subject
and paint it on canvas.

at least 4 to 6 photos, she discusses with the subject their particular artistic requirements, taste,
and other details about what they want in the painting.
